The "Hub" Model

What is a Hub?
A Hub is typically a facility within a community providing or facilitating access to:

  • Drop-in centre for young people
  • Training and support services
  • Counsellors, mentors and coaches
  • "Champion" for youth initiatives, such as Activate's leadership programs
  • Relationships with local businesses for employment / training opportunities

The Hub

The Hub is designed to:

  • ensure an integrated support for participants before, during and after Activate Programs
  • boost the effectiveness of Activate programs
  • strengthen collaboration with local communities and use of services already in place

How does a Hub work?

Feeder Organisations identify willing participants to attend Activate's WOW Program. Activate, Feeder Organisations, and Support Organisations work together to support graduates achieve their goals (see diagram above for examples of Feeder and Support Organisations).
